Dear Neighbor,

 My name is Val Vigil.  My wife, Annabelle, and I have lived  in the City of Thornton for over 17 years, in Adams County for over 36 years.

Together, over these years, we have worked in our local schools, church, started a business, served in community organizations, raised our kids and then watched them raise our grandkids.  My entire immediate family are proud to have made the City of Thornton our home.

 I served as your State Representative at the State Capitol for eight years (1999-2006).  In the eight years at the State Capitiol I gained a lot of knowledge that will be very usefull at the local level.  Skills like budget negotiations, building partnerships, building coaliations with all interested parties, and most important the skill to communicate with my constituents one on one.

I envision a thriving and prosperous Thornton with good jobs and quality public schools.  It was this dream that kept me fighting for you at the State Capitol.  I believe in neighbors helping neighbors, standing for what you believe in, and giving back to your community. 

I went into public service ten years ago because I wanted to give back what I have been so fortunate to have received.  And for eight years as your State Representative I did just that.  Now,  I want to be your next City of Thornton Councilman representating Ward 2 so that I can continue my public service work .

Most politicians tell you what you want to hear.  I want to hear what you have to say.  The City of Thornton can move forward only with the voice of its people  and as your Councilman, your voice will be my voice.  That is my campaign promise and my commitment to you.
